Post-Treatment Guidelines

Your treatment doesn't end when you leave our office--how you care for your skin afterward is just as important. Following our post-treatment guidelines will help reduce the risk of side effects, support a smooth recovery, and ensure your results look as natural and long-lasting as possible. Think of this as the final step in your treatment journey, giving your skin the best chance to heal beautifully and reveal its full potential.
These are general aftercare guidelines to support your recovery. For personalized instructions tailored to your treatment, please consult with our team during your appointment.
Redness, Swelling & Tenderness
It's normal to experience mild redness, swelling, or tenderness in the treated area. This usually resolves within a few hours to a few days. Applying a cool compress intermittently can help ease discomfort.
Protect from Heat & Sun
Refrain from direct sun exposure, tanning, saunas, hot tubs, steam rooms, and strenuous exercise for 24-48 hours. Always apply sunscreen. Sun protection is essential throughout the healing process.
Avoid Touching or Rubbing
Do not touch, massage, or rub the treated area for the first several hours after your procedure. This allows the skin and underlying tissues to begin healing without disruption.
Stay Hydrated
Drink plenty of water and maintain a balanced diet to support your body's natural healing. Gentle hydration and nourishment can improve results.
No Makeup or Skincare
Do not apply makeup, skincare, or cleansers for the first 24 hours. After 24 hours, you may resume gentle cleansing and moisturizing but avoid active or exfoliating ingredients for 3-7 days.
Expected Healing
Mild peeling, dryness, or flaking may occur. Do not pick or scratch the treated area. Results may take several days to weeks to fully appear, as collagen builds and tissues settle.
What to Avoid
Activity
No strenuous activity or heavy sweating for the first 24-48 hours
Treatments
No facials, massages, or additional treatments for at least 1-2 weeks
Blood Thinners
Limit alcohol and blood-thinning medications (such as aspirin) if possible
Contact our office immediately if you experience excessive swelling, blistering, severe pain, signs of infection, or any unusual changes in the treated area.
